By 2023 there will be even more green buses on the road

FlixBus continues to develop the domestic network in Portugal and is already planning new destinations and timetables for 2023.

Express transport is increasingly becoming an alternative to travelling by car, not only because it is comfortable and sustainable, but also because a journey by bus costs up to ten times less than a trip by car and takes practically the same time. Passenger transport on long-distance buses is currently one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly ways to travel and should be seen by all as one of the means of transportation for the future and one of the safest.

Operating in Portugal since 2017, first offering international routes, and from 2020 domestic travel, FlixBus has brought a new way of travelling to the Portuguese market, one that is more comfortable, economical and sustainable.

The green buses that operate the FlixBus lines are new, comfortable, and have extra legroom. They offer free access to WiFi, an entertainment service on board, and are equipped with sockets for PCs, mobile phones and tablets. The buses also comply with the Euro VI standard, the most demanding in Europe in terms of CO2 emissions, and are also the most efficient and sustainable on the market.

According to Pablo Pastega, general manager for FlixBus in Portugal and Spain, “more and more passengers trust FlixBus to travel safely, more economically and sustainably. Portugal has always been a priority market for Flix. We have been investing in the country and expanding our network and connections, offering this sustainable shared mobility solution to more and more people, reaching more and more destinations”.
