Flights between Paris and Portugal cancelled as air traffic controllers go on strike

At least eight flights between Paris and Portugal have been cancelled today as French air traffic controllers complete a two-day strike that has affected dozens of schedules – and caused distruption further afield.

Agence France Presse says flights affected in Portugal today are five that connect Lisbon to France and two in and out of Porto.

But elsewhere flights from Spain, Switzerland and Germany have also been cancelled. It is not clear yet whether the cancellations have anything to do with the strike in France, reports Lusa – but the information is given on ANA airports’ authority’s online page.

The strike has been called by French union Unsa that is protesting to staff lay-offs and lack of investment that they say has “direct implications on the chain of security” at French airports.
