Traditional gastronomy, crafts and musical entertainment are on offer at the 22nd Feira de Artesanato, Agricultura de Recreio de Moncarapacho (FARM), in the Olhão council.
The fair, running from August 2 to 5, at the Dr António João Eusébio School, places a spotlight on locally grown foods and regional gastronomy.
At the Espaço Alengarb – Sabores e Temperos do Sul (Alengarb Space – Flavours and Seasonings of the South), there will be olive oil, honey and wine tasting, while a real treat for those with a sweet tooth is the opportunity to purchase typical Algarve sweets, mainly almond and egg based.
At FARM, visitors will also be able to admire the work of several artisans from across Portugal who will be creating real masterpieces during the event.
Tonight (Friday) doors to the event open at 7pm with fado music by singers Pedro Viola, Teresa Viola e Cidália Moreira.
Tomorrow (Saturday) it is the turn of Íris, a band from Olhão, to delight the crowds from 10pm, followed by DJ Zoon from midnight to 2am.
On Sunday, the 27th International Folk Dancing Festival will be held from 10pm.
