An evening of Flamenco, Sevillanas and Rumba Catalana with artists Xavier Llonch and Catarina Boavida is being held on Sunday, September 29 at 5pm at Herdade da Corte, Tavira.
Xavier and Catarina have dedicated their lives to their passion for the art and soul of flamenco. They are based in Lisbon and belong to the Flamenco Group El Camino.
Xavier Llonch was born in France in 1967, son to a Spanish father and a French mother. At an early age he joined the music community, in particular that of flamenco.
He followed his father to flamenco shows among Spanish emigrants in France. He has dedicated his life to an artistic career in flamenco and performs at tourist resorts, art galleries and summer cultural events for various audiences. Since 2004 he has been living and working in Lisbon.
Catarina Moura Castel-Branco Boavida was born in 1981 in Lisbon. Flamenco has been an integral part of Catarina’s life since the age of 15. After an initiation in Sevillanas in 1997, she began a long partnership with Maria Jose Navarro in the art, soul and technique of flamenco.
Catarina has maintained her continuous learning over the past 10 years, with courses in both Portugal and Spain.She began when quite young to dance at public events and for television. For Catarina, flamenco demands el arte de improvisación which, in turn, demands continuous learning and practice. From 1997, she has given body and soul to flamenco.
Tickets cost €15.Drinks and tapas will be on sale during the interval and after the concert. Herdade da Corte is just off the N270 between Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo and Tavira.
