Five people have been injured – one of them seriously – in a head-on car crash this afternoon (June 27) on the stretch of the EN125 road between Pêra and Guia.
One of the injured was believed to have been trapped in one of the vehicles.
The road, the main artery in the region, was closed to traffic while the injured were extricated, and the debris removed from the scene.
The cause of the accident remains unknown.
