GNR police found victim lying on the street after the robbery
Five people were arrested on Wednesday for a violent robbery in Albufeira.
During a routine patrol, GNR police agents found a man lying injured on the street.
The man informed the agents that he had been robbed by a group of five people who fled in the direction of Oura after stealing his mobile phone.
The agents quickly set off towards Oura where they were able locate the suspects, who were in possession of the stolen phone. Two other phones were also confiscated, one of which is believed to be linked to another robbery.
According to the police force, two of the suspects have previous criminal records for theft and illegal possession of weapons.
The five suspects are due to appear before a judge at Albufeira Judicial Court today.
