Recent bad weather, the worst for 20 years, has led to a crisis in the Algarve fishing industry.
Fishermen are having to occupy their time mending their fishing nets and waiting for the day when they can go back to sea and earn some money.
Faced with such difficulties, the fishermen have asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for help, and appealed to parish councils to lower the rent of stalls where they keep their fishing gear.
