AN EXHIBITION of Portuguese traditional boats, entitled Barcos Tradicionais Portugueses de Arez Viegas, will be inaugurated in the Sala Polivente of the Edificio Paços de Concelho building in Praça Gil Eanes, Lagos, at 6pm on May 31.
The exhibition will run until August 31 and is part of the commemorations for Fishermen’s Day (May 31). Other celebrations include music by the philharmonic band and the blessing of the fishing boats on June 2 at 3pm. This will be followed by the seventh fishing boat race in Lagos at 4pm with a prize giving ceremony at 5.30pm.
