The very first Wine and Olive Oil Outlet opened last week in Alcantarilha, Silves, under the guise of Carmim, Alentejo’s largest wine producing company, which sees the temporary establishment as an innovative strategy to get closer to the consumer.
Located in the Edifício Rogel Park (A block) in Rogelo at the Alcantarilha industrial area, the Wine and Olive Oil Outlet is open every weekend until December 24, offering wine and olive tastings, with previous registration required.
However, the highlight for consumers is an array of special discounts that can offer up to a 60% discount on the retail price of wines and olive oil. The CEO of Carmim and Monsaraz Wines, José Canita, believes that setting up this outlet will boost product distribution, particularly in the Algarve, “a strategically important region for the company”.
Carmim hopes to take the outlet to other places in Portugal after this experiment, and Canita added: “In critical times for the national economy, the Carmim Group is rowing against the tide by investing in expansion, strengthening its position close to the consumer and improving distribution”.
