First ‘Strawberry Supermoon’ of 2022 should be visible at 11.22 tonight

The first full ‘supermoon’ of 2022 – this time described as a Strawberry Supermoon  – should be shining brightly for all to see, at its absolute peak of strawberry super brilliance, at 11.22 tonight, says the astronomical observatory of Lisbon. It is the first of four supermoons this year. Supermoons are named because they appear when the moon is closest to the Earth in terms of its orbit, and so seems larger and brighter. The next supermoon will be what is called a Super Buck Moon, on July 13; there was a Super New Moon in January, and there will be a 2nd Super New Moon on December 23.
