First real estate fair

ALBUFEIRA CÂMARA President Desidério Silva will be opening the city’s first real estate fair, ImoExpo 2008, next Friday (May 30) on Largo Eng. Duarte Pacheco, in the centre of the city.

This fair, which runs until Sunday,  June 1, will include stands from estate agents who will show what the area has to offer in terms of real estate and much more.

Helena Dias, the organiser of the fair, told The Resident: “I organised this fair because I think that the real estate market needs some new ideas and to become more dynamic by going out and approaching its customers.

“I also hope that this fair will bring more people to the centre of Albufeira.”

As well as regional public figures such as the President of Albufeira’s Junta de Freguesia, Helder Sousa, Austrian tourism agents, who are currently visiting the region, have also been invited to visit the fair.

“We are hoping to show the foreign market that Albufeira, and the Algarve, has a lot more to offer than just hotels,” said Helena.

There will be live musical entertainment during the fair, including traditional Algarvean music and dancing as well as several bands, Alhada, José Luis and his band Toca a Bombar and Paderne’s folk dancing group.

This fair, which is free to enter, will be open each day between 5pm and midnight.
