Literature lovers from across the Algarve took part in the first Lit.ALGARVE festival between September 16 and 19.
Audiences were able to enjoy presentations from leading international authors, workshops, literary lunches and debates at locations all across the region during this pioneering event.
Organiser Barbara Fellgiebel told the Algarve Resident: “The first Lit.ALGARVE was a great success and it was a case of quality instead of quantity. There were no huge crowds anywhere but those who did attend were delighted with what they experienced.”
While the first Algarve Literature Festival has only just finished, already thoughts are turning to the next possible event.
Barbara Fellgiebel said: “The authors that took part in the events were enchanted, amazed and pleased and almost all have already asked if they can come back next year!”
She added: “My answer to the authors is yes they can return but we need to get some proper sponsoring of the event and we are working on this to ensure the future success of the festival.”
