THIS SUNDAY will see the first of many car boot sales, or Feiras Sobre Rodas, at Parque das Cidades in Loulé.
Car boot sales will take place every first and third Sunday of each month. These will be open between 8am and 2pm and are aimed at being a fun day out for all the family as well as a chance to buy and sell second hand goods.
To take a vehicle and sell at the fair, residents will have to register either online before the date or at the site on the day. Visitors, associations and entertainers can enter the fair free of charge.
Mark Walder, a British resident who moved to Portugal three years ago, is the organiser of the sales.
“I noticed that this type of fair didn’t really exist here, so I want to market it to the Portuguese as well as to the foreign resident population,” said Mark.”If this proves to be a success, I will be approaching other Câmaras in the region to organise more car boot sales.”
Parque das Cidades has been chosen for its easy access and central location for sellers and visitors across the region.
The cost of taking a car to the car boot sale is five euros with pre-registration and six euros on the day.
