Lagos is the first town in the Algarve to see the opening of an InvestAlgarve office, a planned regional service tailored for business people who want to invest in the region but seek more information on how to do so.
The office was launched on Thursday, November 3 at the Gabinete do Município in Lagos town hall and is open for appointments every Thursday between 3pm and 5pm.
The idea is to offer entrepreneurs information about community funding they could make use of, locations where they could set up their businesses, and entities or services that might help bring their business plans to life.
Hopes are to expand the project in 2017 to other Algarve towns.
“(The goal) is to open more offices in order to strengthen this network and bring institutions closer to potential investors, as part of a project that will contribute strongly to the growth of the regional economy,” says Algarve intermunicipal association AMAL which brought the initiative to life.
The association said the Lagos office opening is the culmination of a three-year project developed by a network of around 40 local entities.
