THE FIRST brick of the Tivoli Victoria hotel in Vilamoura was laid last week during a ceremony held to mark the commencement of construction.
Representing an investment of 57 million euros, the five-star Tivoli Victoria is set to be located alongside the Victoria Golf Course.
Those present at the ceremony included António Luís Roquette Ricardi, president of the board of Grupo Banco Espírito Santo, which owns the Tivoli hotel brand, Luis Patrão, president of the Instituto de Turismo de Portugal, Seruca Emídio, President of Loulé Câmara, Manuel Fernando Espírito Santo, president of ES Resources (part of Grupo Espírito Santo) and Miguel Rugeroni, managing director of ES Hotéis (the group’s hotel arm).
The Tivoli Victoria, the 14th Tivoli hotel to open in Portugal, will boast 280 rooms, a spa, two restaurants, three bars, two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor). There will also be 900sqm of meeting room space and a large ballroom.
The hotel is expected to be ready to open in winter 2008.
