Firms in wildfire-affected areas to get State aid, social security waiver

Companies affected by this year’s wildfires in the areas of Odemira, in the district of Beja, and Castelo Branco, will receive financial support and total or partial exemption from paying social security contributions. In the resolution by the Council of Ministers declaring these fires to be “exceptional situations”, signed by the prime minister and published in Diário da República today, the government establishes the creation of a cash flow and investment support line for tourism companies in the two territories.
