Firefighters working hard to restore water in Messines

São Bartolomeu de Messines may finally be getting its water supply system back on track after two ruptured water pipes left a big slice of the local population without water.
The fire departments of Silves and Messines are currently working together to fix the second rupture which was identified earlier this morning (January 2) and have even distributed water among the population, a local told the Algarve Resident.
Messines locals have been without water since New Year’s Eve when the first pipe ruptured.
The municipal authority of Silves expects the problem to be solved by the end of the day today and “apologises for any inconveniences caused by the water shortage”.
