Three municipal firefighters deployed at Ilha Armona (Olhão) to ensure the safety of residents and holidaymakers on the island have returned to their home base fire station in Olhão following the government’s decision not to pay overtime.
According to Olhão Câmara vice president, António Pina, no firefighters from the Olhão Municipal Bombeiros are now stationed on the island, which has led to feelings of insecurity among locals and visitors alike.
