A small fire broke out this afternoon (September 11) on a piece of land next to the Jacinto Correia council estate in Poço Partido, Lagoa.
Fire fighters arrived within minutes of the fire starting shortly before 1pm after residents raised the alarm.
The flames burnt around 10sqm of land beside a millstone, narrowly missing the residential buildings.
According to the Bombeiros commander, the cause of the fire is unknown.
