Fire prevention a priority

Roads are being cleaned, repaired, re-opened and sign-posted by São Brás de Alportel Câmara which are trying to ensure that, like last year, no fires break out in the area. “Forest fires are a major threat and deserve our utmost attention,” said Câmara President António Eusébio, who has announced that this year’s fire prevention budget will be four times greater than last year. “We have an application, already approved, at the Regional Agricultural Board, allowing for a budget of 125,000 euros,” he revealed.
