A fire started on the grassland adjacent to the Montes de Alvor aerodrome on Wednesday, June 13 at around 8.30pm.
Reader Melvyn Mole, a resident of the area, said: “I am unsure how the fire started. But at least three fire appliances arrived to douse the flames.
Melvyn Mole said the fire was brought under control just after 11pm.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
