Parkalgar Honda ace Eugene Laverty held his nerve at Germany’s Nurburgring last Sunday to set up a likely grandstand finale to the World Supersport Championship series in the Algarve next month.
The Northern Irishman took a close second place behind winner and title favourite Cal Crutchlow as team mate Miguel Praia took the chequered flag in an excellent 11th place. Laverty will have another chance to reduce the current 22-point gap on the leader in Imola on September 27 before returning ‘home’ to Portimão’s Motor Park track.
