The second leg of the fond farewell to West Algarve artist John Greenslade (also known as Jon G) will be taking place at the Cultural Centre in Almádena this weekend.
Opening both days at 11am, John’s legacy – his rich body of work – will be on show, going under the hammer in a raffle both days at 2pm.
The idea is for proceeds to go into a fund to help further and develop local talent in children who would like to follow in John’s footsteps and learn more about the art of painting.
As was explained in an obituary posted recently, John died in May.
Friends have since been working to honour his memory and ensure his beautiful paintings go to good homes.
Says sculptor Sören Ernst, John is “best remembered for his stunning seascapes and street scenes, incorporating elements of the subject he was depicting into the actual painting… giving his work a tactile quality”.
