After a successful season of competition, the PDF Bowling Club held their Finals Day recently. The weather was absolutely perfect and the finals were played in a competitive yet very sporting manner. Roger and Jackie Hayes won the pairs final, just having the edge on the day over Paul and Tehlma Johnson. The final score was 30-17.
An excellent two wood final was narrowly won by Sue Shrimpton, who beat Roger Hayes 11-9. The singles final was convincingly won by Ken Catherall, who beat Pat Shrimpton by 21-11.
A very successful finals day, following a record number of entries for each competition this year, underlined the improved standards of bowling generally throughout the club. The club members are now looking forward to the autumn and another new season of bowling at PDF and in the Algarve League.
