Former footballing legend Luís Figo is said to be seriously considering a bid for leadership of the Portuguese Football Federation. According to various sources contacted by Expresso, Figo has been pressured by “people connected to the world of football” to put himself forwards “and it is practically decided” that he will. The current president, Fernando Gomes, 71, is due to step down next year, after nearly 13 years at the helm.
