Fighting human trafficking

Portugal must take action to ensure more human trafficking cases are brought to justice and the high number of child beggars is addressed. These are some of the recommendations by the Council of Europe Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA). National authorities and non-governmental organisations were alerted to the rising number of human trafficking cases for labour exploitation, a problem affecting mainly men, highlighted the report.

Portugal was also advised to build shelters to provide protection for male victims.
