For the first time in the last three years, the number of unemployed people signed up at IEFP employment centres in the Algarve was under 20,000.
In August, the total was 19,851 – most of which were men (53%) and aged between 35 and 54 (48.5%).
Further data shows that between January and August, the number of people signed up at regional IEFP centres had decreased 12% on the same period in 2013.
