Fewer funds

SIX COUNCILS in the Algarve have been allocated less funding from the government for 2008.

Albufeira, Castro Marim, Lagoa, Lagos, Portimão and Vila Real de Santo António are six of only 10 councils throughout the whole of Portugal to receive less money. Aljezur, Vila do Bispo and Loulé will receive the same amount that was allocated to them this year. Meanwhile, increased funding has been awarded to Alcoutim, Faro, Monchique, Olhão, São Brás de Alportel, Silves and Tavira.
