Fewer deaths and accidents on Portuguese roads this Carnaval

There were fewer deaths (3) and accidents (942) on Portugal’s roads this Carnaval compared to last year, the GNR police have revealed.

The police operation ‘Carnaval 2015’, which ran between February 13 and 17, found that the number of accidents dropped by 72, while one less person died this year.

GNR also registered 7,353 traffic offences, most of which due to speeding.
