Vilamoura International School’s Christmas Fair this year – on Saturday, November 26 – will be in aid of five causes and all are welcome to take part.
The causes benefiting from the fair, which will run from 10am to 2.30pm, are the Liga Portuguesa contra o Cancro (national cancer care institute), Associação Existir (Loulé-based association supporting the disabled), Refeitório Social de Quarteira (soup kitchen), Big Hand (in aid of a better education for Mozambican children) and Miriam, a young warrior from São Brás suffering from cerebral palsy.
“As a school, it is our duty to not only promote educational achievement but also human solidarity, a culture of peace and the active involvement in society,” said the school.
The Christmas Fair will feature a number of stalls selling organic produce, handicrafts, books and toys, as well as food and beverages. Festive music, art, a raffle and entertainment will keep the true spirit of the season. And, of course, Santa will be making an appearance!
