Just before Christmas, a packed and enthusiastic audience at Spikes restaurant in Vale do Lobo experienced “a truly unforgettable atmosphere” created by the combination of the singers and musicians of the Salvation Army Brass Band and the Strings and Things Show Band.
The concert, skilfully blending popular seasonal songs and dance numbers, raised funds for charitable causes supported by The Salvation Army.
Proceeds from this concert, and the previous one held in São Brás, exceeded expectations, with €3,000 raised for charity. The Salvation Army can now purchase a much-needed defibrillator for the Bombeiros’ ambulance in Almodovar as well as supporting its ongoing food programme for the old and needy in the São Brás area.
