It’s that time of year to prepare for a sea swim! Two charity swims are again taking place in Armação de Pêra this festive season, promising a fun-filled day and the opportunity to raise money for local families in need.
Join other brave swimmers on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day, (January 1). Meet on the beach in front of the Holiday Inn Algarve Hotel at 11am.
The Clube dos Veículos Clássicos do Barlavento, which took over the initiative’s organisation from the Holiday Inn Algarve, say: “Join us for a fun-filled charity swim, have a dip in the ocean and help to raise money for local families in need. Bring your swimwear and a towel and go in for a swim – or just a paddle – as long as a part of you gets wet!
“Then recover in the Holiday Inn Hotel bar afterwards and enjoy a Hot Bomba on Christmas Day or a Hot Chocolate on New Year’s Day.”
On Christmas Day, organisers suggest participants wear a Santa suit, while on New Year’s Day you won’t even have to change to leave the house – just turn up in your pajamas!
Adults and children are all welcome to take part on the understanding that they do so at their own risk.
Bring a donation and help raise money to help families in need in the area. Funds will be passed to the Junta de Freguesia de Armação de Pêra.
All types of donations offered, monetary or material, will be accepted.
