The four-day event features light, sound and musical entertainment for all ages between November 24 and 27.
The city of Loulé is hosting the seventh edition of the Som Riscado Festival from November 24 to 27, an event seeking an innovative approach to artistic experimentation with sound, music and image.
As per previous editions, the event’s concept will remain the same, offering mainly free shows in six venues within the municipality.
The Som Riscado Festival kicks off on November 24 with ‘Sublumia’ by Sonoscopy, a sound and visual installation, which will be on for the duration of the festival at Palácio Gama Lobo. The show consists of an installation of objects using sound capture and light projection from and onto several liquids and electromechanical elements.
On the 25th, Teatro da Didascália presents “Soundcheck”, an interactive concert, at Cineteatro Louletano, at 14:30. This session is aimed at the school community. It will be repeated on the 26th, at 21:00, for the general public.
Also on the 25th, the “70.ª Semana”, an audiovisual opera by the DME Project (Electroacoustic Music Days), will take to the stage of the Casa da Cultura de Loulé.
The immersive sound show “Silent Disco”, at 21:00, where everyone can listen and dance according to their headphones, closes the second day of the festival at the Rancho Infantil e Juvenil de Loulé.
The programme continues on the 26th, at 17:00 in the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium, with “Sulisonias”. This multidisciplinary concert recreates the sound, poetic and visual landscape of the municipality of Loulé, using wind, strings and percussion instruments and more.
On the same day, in the evening, Miguel Carvalhais, Pedro Tudela, Gustavo Costa and Rodrigo Carvalho present “Máquina Magnética”, an installation and concert to see and hear at the Rancho Folclórica Infantil e Juvenil de Loulé, at 22:30.
On the third and last day of the festival, musician and composer Jorge Moniz presents “Cinematheque”, a multimedia concert, at 17:00 at the Cineteatro Louletano.
The seventh edition of the Som Riscado Festival closes with “A Casa na Praça Trubnaia”, a film concert by Mão Morta scheduled for 21:00 at the Cineteatro Louletano.
The Som Riscado Festival is an initiative of the Cineteatro Louletano, a cultural structure of the Loulé Townhall in the field of performing arts. It is one of the promoters of the Rede Azul (Blue Network) – Algarve Theatre Network and 5 Sentidos Network.
