A €110,000 facelift initiative to three streets and five small footbridges is underway in the village of Ferragudo.
The works started on Monday.
Improvement to the footbridges over the village canal will cost €4,800 and should be completed within two months, says the council.
The remaining work will be carried out at ruas 25 de Abril, Vasco da Gama and Dr. Manuel Teixeira Gomes. The first two – where most of the village shops are located – “have been in need of renovations for a long time,” while the latter is a more residential street.
Representing a cost of €106,000 and programmed to take four months, the work will include replacing the streets’ water/sewage pipes and repairs to pavements.
Traffic flow and pedestrian access “may be affected”.
