Ferragudo will be holding a varied programme of summer events during July and August.
Major highlights in the summer programme will be the second Jazz and World Music Festival at Club Nau in Praia Grande between July 15 and 17, street parties in the village every Tuesday from 9.30pm, Noites Calientes (Hot Nights) dedicated to the African, Brazilian and Caribbean cultures on July 8, July 22, August 5 and August 19, and a night of music from the 70s, 80s and 90s on July 9.
The main event in the programme will be the festivities in honour of Our Lady of Conceição to be held on August 15.
During the procession, fishing boats will be blessed and after that, celebrations will continue at Angrinha Beach.
“The project aims to promote the best Ferragudo has to offer and thus attract more tourists,” said a spokesman for the organisers.
