ALVOR PARISH is hosting the image of Our Lady of Fátima until tomorrow (Saturday).
The statue is expected to visit different locations in Alvor village, Penina and Montes de Alvor. The image only leaves the Fátima sanctuary, in the centre of Portugal, every 50 years, which makes this tour of extreme importance for local catholic communities.
After visiting Alvor, the statue will be taken to Ferragudo parish by sea in a procession using fishing boats. The procession starts tomorrow at 3pm near the old fish market of Alvor.
