A desperate father broke down a bathroom door at a supermarket to rescue his nine-year-old daughter from a Dutch man who was allegedly “raping her”.
The horrific case happened on Monday (August 21) at the E.Leclerc supermarket in Lamêgo, Vila Real.
The 35-year-old suspect, who according to Correio da Manhã tabloid lived in Germany but was on holiday in Portugal, apparently “lured the girl over to him, grabbed her and ran to the supermarket’s bathroom”.
The father noticed she was missing shortly after and apparently searched the whole supermarket, eventually hearing his daughter’s screams coming from the restroom.
He broke down the door and found his daughter “being raped” by the man, says CM.
The tabloid adds that the father asked employees for help to subdue the man until police arrived.
The alleged attacker was arrested and is now in preventive custody.
