The 6th Father Christmas Walk in aid of the poor will be held in the streets of Armação de Pêra on Saturday, December 2. What better way to start the festive season than with a healthy walk and at the same time help a charitable cause?
Participation is free, but organisers are asking all to contribute with food items (rice, pasta, olive oil, milk, canned foods, etc) or money to be donated to the ““Espaço Amigo” of Armação de Pêra, a project of the local parish council which aims to support families in need.
The walk, taking a route of approximately 3km, is open to all ages and is organised by the Junta de Freguesia of Armação de Pêra in partnership with the Holiday Inn Algarve. Meeting point is at the hotel at 10am. To attend, just turn up with your Santa Claus suit!
Before the walk, trainers from the Urban Gym Health Club will lead the warm-up exercises.
Organisers say: “Take a healthy walk and help the neediest in the community. No donation is too small!”
The event is open to all ages, but children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by their parents.
