A Portuguese man killed his former wife’s new husband at the home they shared in Manta Rota, Vila Real de Santo António, on Saturday, January 10.
The GNR told the Algarve Resident that Humberto Crispim went to the house with the intention of killing his ex-wife and their 11-year-old daughter but instead shot his former wife’s current husband, Cândido Gomes, with a shotgun.
His former wife and child managed to flee the scene while his ex-mother-in-law remained trapped in the house.
Humberto Crispim, who barricaded himself in the house before police apprehended him, is now in police custody.
