Fatacil celebrates 30 years in August

Lagoa’s annual arts and crafts, tourism, agriculture, commerce and industry fair, known as Fatacil, will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year between August 21 and 30.

More than 20 wine producers from across the Algarve will be showing off their produce at the fair this year.

The wineries will be represented in a 300sqm stand dedicated to the regional agriculture and fishing industries.

These wines will take part in the second Algarve wine competition, which is organised by the regional agriculture department with the support of the Algarve’s gastronomy and wine association.

Other stands at the Fatacil are to include Zoomarine, where visitors will be able to find out more about the conservation of marine life across the world, especially sea turtles in Cape Verde. Shows throughout the fair include Bootleg Abba on August 24 and The Stranglers on August 30.

Tickets for the Fatacil this year cost five euros per person or 15 euros for a family ticket for four people and can be purchased at the venue. The fair will be open from 6pm until 1am on August 21 and then from 4pm until 1am everyday thereafter.
