EIGHT BRITISH pets are to take part in a 100-day diet and fitness plan in a bid to be crowned this year’s pet fit club champion in the UK.
The seven dogs and one cat, with a combined total weight of 191 kg, were picked to take part by veterinary charity PDSA who are running the slimming contest.
The animals, which need to lose a total of 74 kg to reach their ideal weight, will be put on specially tailored diet and exercise programmes.
The pet that achieves the biggest percentage weight loss and best follows the plan will be crowned champion, winning their owner a pet-friendly holiday.
