Fast food investment

McDonald’s is to invest €15 million in Portugal this year.

The American fast food chain plans to open three new restaurants in the country and revamp 17 of its existing establishments.

One of the stores will be opening in Coimbra in June but the location of the other two hasn’t yet been revealed while licensing procedures continue. Around 150 new jobs will be created. In 2011, the company invested €25 million in Portugal. In total, there are 135 McDonald’s restaurants in the country.
