Fashion show and lunch

Jouk has been selling designer fashion in the Algarve for more than 30 years and her collections are well known particularly in the western Algarve where her Carvoeiro studio is based.

On Wednesday, April 25, Jouk will be taking her spring and summer collections to the eastern Algarve, where local women will be modelling her clothes during a fashion show at the restaurant of Pedras da Rainha complex in Cabanas, Tavira.

Ten models from the UK, Holland and the Czech Republic will be showing 30 of Jouk’s outfits, which are described as for people of all ages, shapes and sizes.

Jouk’s clothes will be available for sale and there will also be a number of stalls selling paintings, handicraft, plants and jewellery, which will be open from 10.30am.

Live music will be provided by jazz duo Second Adolescence featuring Gordon Railton on keyboards and Andre Walton on guitar and flute.

The event is being co-hosted by Lynne Booker from the Algarve History Association and Linda Cree from the afpop Eastern Algarve Area.

A three course lunch will follow the fashion show, which starts at 12.30pm.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Madrugada charity supporting people with life-limiting illnesses.

At 10.30am, afpop’s Linda Cree will be hosting her regular monthly meeting which on the day will be open to the public.

Tickets for the show and meal cost €16, while for the show only the entrance fee is €5.
