FARO AIRPORT’S new direct flight service by Ryanair to Barcelona, launched today (Friday), is being promoted in the Spanish media by the Associação de Turismo do Algarve (ATA), the Algarve tourism association.
This ATA campaign, which is being launched in conjunction with Faro Airport and Ryanair, aims to promote the region’s key attractions and the advantages of the new route for Spanish visitors.
Ryanair is offering four flights per week between Faro and Girona airport (Barcelona) with prices starting at 49 cents. However, when taxes are added, the minimum seat price is 28.90 euros.
This new service to Barcelona complements the twice weekly service to Madrid from Faro Airport launched by Ryanair last November.
Last year, according to the ATA, Spanish tourists accounted for around 660,000 overnight stays in the region’s hotels and registered accommodation, it is now hoped this number will rise thanks to the improved transport links.
