Faro market

The President of Faro Câmara, José Vitorino, has announced that Faro’s new market place should be open by the end of this year. Apparently, the project, which was supposed to have been finished at the end of 2003, was delayed due to problems encountered while installing water pipes. “A problem occurred when the water pipes had to be shifted to another part of the building. This then caused other problems,” the politician explained, adding that the car park for the market should be finished by the summer. Faro market is currently located between the Largo do Mercado and the General Teófilo da Trinidade street, where it is, apparently, very hard to find a parking space. “I’m confident that when the car park opens, it will make parking much easier for those shopping and working at the temporary market location,” Vitorino said.
