Faro Lions Club will be holding their fourth charity golf tournament on August 8.
The event, at Benamor Golf Club in Tavira, is in memory of architect Armando dos Reis, a former president of the Lions Club de Faro and whose architectural practice designed the Lar de Idosos de Almancil, a house for old age persons which is being built at this time. The home is a part of ASCA, the Almancil Social and Cultural Association.
The tournament’s aim is to raise funds for the Obra Social Madre Teresa de Calcutá, ASCA, APPC (special educational needs school) and Faro’s Oncology Unit.
The main sponsors for the event are Centro Porsche Faro and Benamor Golf who are donating their facilities for the charity event.
The entry fee is 40 euros, which includes lunch.
Lions International was founded in 1917 and has 1.3 million members worldwide. It has been running in Portugal for 50 years.
Lions Club de Faro helps and supports institutions and causes in the area.
