‘Four Oceans powered by Forum Algarve 2015’ is one of the Algarve’s biggest surfing competitions and will be taking place once again this weekend (March 14-15) on Faro Island.
Organised by the Faro Surf Club, the event includes the third leg of the regional surf circuit (Circuito Regional de Surf do Sul), which qualifies under-18s for the national finals.
There will be many official categories, including under-12, under-14, under-16 and under -18 for male surfers and under-16 and under-18 for girls. There will also be Longboard and Open competitions for both boys and girls.
Anyone wishing to take part can sign up until March 12 via [email protected] Enrolment costs €20.
A novelty to the event this year is the start of a photography competition.
Anyone taking photos of the competition can take part by posting them on Instagram with the hashtag #fouroceansforumalgarve.
The photos will then be posted on Forum Algarve’s Facebook page and “the most creative” will win a Plâncton surf board.
The competition, sponsored by Forum Algarve, begins both days at 9am.
