Faro hosts Algarve Tech Hub Summit

Event aims to position Algarve as “best lifestyle destination in Europe”

Three days of conferences and networking are promised for the Algarve Tech Hub Summit, which will take place between Wednesday and Friday (June 21-23) at the 1.5 Auditorium at the Penha campus of the University of the Algarve.

The goal of the event is to “share and inspire the future of innovation, technology and business fabric” of the Algarve, which organisers aim to “position as the best lifestyle destination in Europe.”

The event will also feature variety of panels highlighting the importance of technology and innovation in addressing “global sustainability challenges” in areas such as healthcare, energy, oceans, tourism, agriculture, and space.

Speakers will include national specialists as well as many others who will be travelling to the Algarve from the USA and several European countries, including Ana Vaz from ESA BIC Portugal, who will discuss the “opportunities offered by Space”; Antónia Correia, a professor at the University of Algarve and president of KIPT, the “first and only tourism CoLab in Portugal”; João Currito from Carob World, who will be addressing “agrotech” challenges; Remzi Aru, an entrepreneur and investor in the tourism sector, who will share his insights on the digitalisation of global tourism; Simon Lancaster from Omni Venture Labs, internationally recognized as an expert in design thinking and deep-tech entrepreneurship; and Aaron McDaniel, a globally recognised corporate manager, entrepreneur, speaker, and author, who will speak about his passion for helping companies expand into global markets, innovate, and attract and develop top-level talent.
