Faro’s International Gago Coutinho Airport will conduct a full-scale emergency drill on Tuesday (November 14) between 8.30pm and 12.30am.
The exercise will be held within the airport perimeter, in line with the recommendations of EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), specifically regarding the “efficient coordination of internal and external resources in emergency response operations,” says ANA Airports in a statement.
The emergency resources outlined in the airport’s Emergency Plan will be deployed during the drill, meaning there will be a wide range of emergency vehicles and “audible and visual emergency signals” coming from the airport.
“Therefore, we inform the surrounding community of Faro Airport that this movement is due to a simulated emergency operation,” ANA adds.
