Farmers everywhere are hugely concerned by the lack of rain so far this winter. With the cold snap, and frosts in the north particularly, the one thing on everyone’s minds is when will the rains come? Will they come? Water levels in dams are far below usual ‘minimums’. The consensus is that it will take “a lot of rain” to make up for the current ominous shortage of reserve water to get the country through another long, dry summer.
